We do NOT collect, transmit, or store any of your data on our servers. All your information stays on your device.

1. Introduction

HomeVault ("we", "our", "us", or "the App") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle, store, and protect your personal and financial information when you use our household bill management application.

2. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

HomeVault stores the following information locally on your device when you choose to enter it:

  • Financial information: utility bills, insurance policies, subscriptions, payment amounts, due dates
  • Account details: provider names, account numbers, policy numbers, service identifiers
  • Personal notes and attachments related to your accounts
  • User preferences: app settings, notification preferences, display options

Information We Do NOT Collect

  • ❌ Personal identifiable information (name, email, phone number)
  • ❌ Location data
  • ❌ Usage analytics or tracking data
  • ❌ Device identifiers
  • ❌ Browsing history or app activity
  • ❌ Biometric data (Face ID/Touch ID data)

3. How We Store and Use Your Data

All your data is stored exclusively on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. This means:

  • ✓ Your data never leaves your device
  • ✓ We have no servers that store your information
  • ✓ We cannot access your data
  • ✓ Your data is protected by your device's security features
  • ✓ Data is automatically encrypted by iOS/iPadOS

4. Biometric Authentication

HomeVault uses Face ID and Touch ID to secure access to your data. It's important to understand:

  • We do NOT access, collect, or store your biometric data
  • Face ID/Touch ID authentication is handled entirely by iOS
  • Your biometric data remains in your device's Secure Enclave
  • We only receive a "yes" or "no" authentication result

5. Third-Party Services and APIs

HomeVault may offer optional integrations with utility providers, insurance companies, and subscription services. When you choose to connect these services:

  • You provide credentials directly to the third-party service
  • Data is fetched directly from the service to your device
  • We do not intercept, store, or have access to this communication
  • Each service's privacy policy governs that connection

6. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not share, sell, rent, or disclose your personal information to third parties. Period.

Because all your data is stored locally on your device and we have no servers, we have no data to share even if requested.

7. Data Security

  • All data is stored securely on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework
  • Data is encrypted automatically by iOS/iPadOS
  • We recommend enabling Face ID, Touch ID, or a strong passcode
  • No network transmission means no interception risk

8. Data Retention and Deletion

Your data remains on your device until you choose to delete it:

  • You can edit or delete individual items at any time within the app
  • Deleting the app removes all locally stored data permanently
  • If you delete the app, data in device backups may remain until those backups are deleted
Important: Once you delete data from HomeVault, it cannot be recovered unless you have a device backup.

9. Your Privacy Rights

You have complete control over your data:

  • Access: View all your stored information within the app
  • Correction: Edit any information at any time
  • Deletion: Delete individual items or all data
  • Export: Export your data (if feature is available)

Regional Privacy Rights

EU/UK (GDPR): You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, object to processing, and data portability.

California (CCPA/CPRA): You have the right to know what personal information is collected, delete personal information, and opt-out of sale. We do not sell personal information.

10. Children's Privacy

HomeVault is not intended for use by children under the age of 13 (or applicable minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect information from children.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top. Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of changes.
